Jamarko in Kathmandu

October 13th, 2016

jamarko‘Jamarko’ in Nepali means ‘Group Effort’.

We are working with Project Sarangi towards the preservation and production of our revered and quickly diminishing Nepali instrument ‘Sarangi’ and traditional Nepali music..

On the 15th of October 2016 we are initiating our first workshop / live musical show at R.S. Moto, Gahana Pokhari, Kathmandu, Nepal. The workshop being the first, aims to promote indigenous / folk Nepali music and instruments by providing a forum for sharing and learning.

Craftmen will also demonstrate the traditional as well as modern method of making the Sarangi, Flute and Madal.
The Concert and Workshop will provide an opportunity for the exchange of ideas amongst attendees and will feature solos, duos and group performances of traditional Nepali instruments and Artists.

Some of the performances will include collaborations with modern instruments to illustrate the versatility and potential of our traditional Nepali instruments.
